SKATING CLASSES AND LESSONS
Learn To Skate Class @ sKATE wORLD
Monday afternoon 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Students work with our Certified Coaching Staff and assistants to learn basic to intermediate skills that will lead to a lifetime of roller skating enjoyment and physical fitness.
This class is open to everyone, the only requirement is the desire to learn.
Children can be taught as soon as they can walk. Adults are welcome also! This is a "learn at your own pace class", unlike other classes that have a scheduled number of class. We offer our Super Star Skating Class, year round!
Class Admission is $6.00 and includes the class and skates if needed.
Speed Skating Classes
Think You Can Skate Fast? PROVE IT!
Few sports can match the head-to-head excitement of speed skating. It's a sport everyone can readily understand - racing - where the gold medals and trophies go to those who skate the fastest. When people are first introduced to the sport they are usually surprised by the sheer numbers as well as the enthusiasm found at competitions.
Speed skaters share a determination to race as fast and as far as they can. This youthful enthusiasm is matched by the sport, which demands a blend of quickness, stamina and strategy.
It's fun, exciting, healthy, social and rewarding. The benefits, however, go beyond winning. Skaters learn the importance of teamwork, of being persistent and organized, and of setting and reaching goals. It builds strength and discipline, while teaching the value of good sportsmanship.
Speed skating is a non-contact sport, requiring skaters to display the skill to maneuver cleanly through the pack and into the winning position. Skaters are disqualified for pushing, blocking, forcing another racer out of position, or using their arms, legs, or hands in any way which impedes the progress of other competitors.

Class includes instruction on basic fundamentals of racing. It is best if interested skaters can skate forward comfortably.
Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday

Monthly Speed Team Memberships Available for ONLY $50
Speed Team membership includes:
ALL available practices with coaching instruction (indoor/outdoor)
ALL skill lessons needed to become a successful speed skater
ALL regular open skate sessions at either one of the Skate Waco facilities
Attendance of two classes per week is required to keep in good membership standings
*Some speed skates of various sizes available for use on a first come, first serve basis.
